…How to Get Your Audience’s Attention and Keep It!

If public speaking has been determined as a person’s number one fear over death, then why would anyone want to learn how to do it? This program will teach your employees how to prepare, package and deliver a presentation so they can persuade their audience to “buy-in” to what they are saying.

Whether your employees are responsible for making a presentation on budget considerations, new product development, company policies and procedures, this program will help them overcome their fears replaced with confidence.  In a one-to-one situation or a large group presentation, the skills from this program will teach your employees how to get their audience’s attention and keep it.

PREPARE

Perception IDentity™

A presenter impacts how the listeners “hear” the information. If the presenter’s first impact on the audience does not set-the-tone for how the presenter wishes the presentation to flow, then they are not truly prepared and risk the information to be ignored and a doubt of competency cast on the presenter.

The first step of the program is for the participant’s Perception IDentity™ to be confirmed so that they can be more strategic in their positioning efforts. Please see the Perception IDentity™ outline description for more information. Please keep in mind that the Perception IDentity™ and “The Parker Factor” will be reviewed in this program.

The following topics will be reviewed and demonstrated for the participant:

  • Opening statements/closing arguments
  • Formulating the direction of the presentation
  • Homework
  • Audience
  • Key points and transitions
  • Objective and approach
  • Speaking off-the-cuff

PACKAGE

Packing a presentation consists of two elements: the speaker and the supporting materials of the presentation.

Supporting Materials

Supporting materials should reinforce the message of the presentation. Whichever materials are appropriate, it is important that the participant knows how to maximize the impact of their supporting efforts.

The Presenter

The presenter has to look the part if they are to be believed by the listeners. This segment will help the presenter learn what “look” is appropriate for specific presentations. The Specialist will address any image enhancement issues at this time. The following Image Disciplines will be reviewed:

  • Color ID
  • Clothing Style Options
  • Functional Psychology of Clothing
  • Personal Grooming: “Details Defines Distinction”

DELIVER (Videotaping)

The best ingredient for ANY presentation is enthusiasm. Enthusiasm projects passion about what the presenter is actually presenting.

There are two types of Delivery styles that we identify when working with presenters: physical and mental. Depending up on which style the presenter is will determine how the Specialist will address the Delivery aspect of this program.

The following topics will be defined and reviewed accordingly:

  • Answering questions
  • Avoid distracting mannerisms
  • Closing tactics
  • Using body language to underscore the spoken words
  • Nervous speech patterns
  • Nervous habits
  • Paralanguage
  • Podium control
  • Opening statements (stories)
  • Technical support
  • Organizations skills
  • Controling hyperboles and jargons
  • Voice qualities: sound, volume, speed, and rhythm
