…Sink or Swim…You Decide

The purpose of this course is to help each team member maximize their individual success potential to enhance the team’s overall performance, making the team an asset to the organization as opposed to a distinct liability.

The objective is to teach the participants how to communicate more effectively with themselves, their team members, and their customers; both internally and externally. To accomplish this, CHUVA will first review the Behavior and Values Reports.

This program will help the participants take ownership of how they best communicate, what is comfortable for them and what part of communication is the most challenging.

It’s these challenges that create one of the biggest gaps in communication and a primary reason why a team’s communications break down.

The meaning of your communication is the response you get: it doesn’t matter what you intended to say, it is what they heard you say that matters.

You cannot NOT communicate. The question is this: Do your team members know what they are actually communicating, and how do they ascertain precisely what the other person is communicating?

The dictionary defines conflict as “disagreement, war battle, and collision.” These definitions, however, presuppose that conflict is essentially a negative thing. Contrary to this mindset, we believe that every conflict has within it the potential for huge gains, both for increased team effectiveness and profitability. The key to seeing to it that conflict create such opportunities is clear, honest, and empathetic communication.
