Perception IDentity™
…the Power of Image Positioning
Perception is more powerful than facts; how your employees are perceived by others, can set-the-tone for how a relationship is going to develop…or not develop. And in today’s dynamic business environments, how others perceive your employees can ultimately affect their success potential!
Before any words are spoken or handshakes take place, perceptions of your employees have already been formed. Although this perception may not reflect their “true-self”, to others it is real; therefore “Perception Is Reality”. The purpose of this program is to:
Help your employees understand how others perceive them and how they can become more strategic in positioning that perception to their audiences for any business situation. We call this process Image Positioning.
How Does Perception IDentity™ Work?
Before words are spoken or handshakes are exchanged, one’s physical characteristics and body language communicates a message to others. Subconsciously others assimilate this message as being primarily authoritative or approachable. CHUVA calls this assimilation Perception ID™.
One “identity” is not better than the other, nor is one right or wrong. They just “occur”. Everyone possesses authoritative and approachable traits. Initially one is typically more prominent than the other. But once handshakes are exchanged and words are spoken, then one’s Perception ID™ can shift immediately, over time, or remain constant.
In business, professionals have to be authoritative or approachable at various times, the key is to know how to position that perception to meet one’s goals and objectives.
Perception ID™ Ratio
Each Perception ID™, authoritative or approachable, is percentage based. For example, if someone’s Perception ID™ is authoritative, the question is, how much of authoritative traits is one actually projecting over approachable traits? A ratio could be 70%/30%, (the left number (70%) always represents authoritative traits and the right number (30%) always represents approachable traits.) As you will see, the ratio is critical as it will be used to help the participant in their “positioning” efforts.
